Hour 1 segment 1: We start today’s show with Cliff Schecter. Matt and Cliff talk baseball with the Twins making trades this weekend with both of Cliff’s teams, the Reds and Yankees. Then politically they talk about Russia struggling with their invasion of Ukraine, Biden bringing NATO countries together and why Democrats shouldn’t buy the GOP narrative that the Dems are doomed in November.

Hour 1 segments 2/3: Jennifer Carnahan announces she will seek the Republican nomination in the first congressional district special election to replace her late husband, Jim Hagedorn. Matt breaks down the other candidates in the DFL and GOP and some of the campaign challenges they might face.

Hour 2 segment 2: Our Democrat of the Day is Kari Dorry who is running for Senate district 12, which includes communities like Ortonville, Benson and Alexandria in western Minnesota.

Hour 2 segment 3: Niche Magazine releases their 2022 Best Cities to Live in America. Perennial favorite Edina only checked in at number 9 among Minnesota cities, much the the chagrin of Edina guy and his man servant, Claude.

Hour 2 segment 4: The Star Tribune reports public officials in Minneapolis did not violate the city’s charter when they failed to keep police staffing levels above the minimum, an appeals court panel ruled.
