Hour 1 segment 1: Lots of news today as we start the show with the MN COVID-19 update. Our hospitalizations in Minnesota have dramatically increased thanks almost entirely to the unvaccinated. The state Department of Health released guidance on masking for schools this fall.

Hour 1 segment 2: Continuing with COVID, we talk about how Republicans seem intent on killing their own voters and supporters with COVID. The legislature hols hearings for how to distribute hero pay for those on the front lines of the pandemic fight.

Hour 1 segments 3/4: Jeff Stein joins for his usual Wednesday visit. We start non-political with Iowa’s giant cross state bike ride, RAGBRAI. They also discuss whether broadcasters (TV, radio, etc.) have a responsibility to promote vaccinations. And thoughts on yesterday’s hearings at the Jan. 6 insurrection commission.

Hour 2 segment 1: We’re joined by Ogimaa Giniw Ikwe of Native Roots Radio. She and Matt talk about how Enbridge massively screwed up doing a frac-out under the Willow River among other locations, exposing the water to dangerous chemicals. We also have news that Enbridge has had at least 3 other frac-outs now on the Mississippi River. Ogimaa tell us more in the interview.

Hour 2 segment 2: More thoughts on the disastrous drilling and fracking Enbridge is doing o0n and near the Mississippi River.

Hour 2 segment 3: The Minnesota Reformer reports a former DFL legislative aide says she was harassed by a DFL operative and brother of a sitting Democratic state senator but the state Senate never investigated the complaint.  The woman says her boss, Sen. Isaacson, Minority Leader Susan Kent and her chief of staff didn’t take the allegations seriously.

Hour 2 segment 4: MinnPost reports a voicemail from Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka to then-MPCA Commissioner Laura Bishop encouraged her to “do her job” and approve a Line 3 permit. Was that a form of intimidation by Gazelka?
