A live show! I start by reminding about how I resigned from Lavender Magazine in July because of the publisher’s edict banning “political writing” (e.g., me writing about the need to protect queer kids). Today I note that the back cover of the magazine’s most recent issue has a political ad by MN’s GOP candidate for governor—not someone known for protecting LGBTQ people. Unbelievable! This week’s featured idealist is Jadav Payeng, the “Forest Man of India” who created a 1300-acre forest by planting one tree a day. I also share about hearing from the mother of a transgender child—she told me something about my work that I’ll never forget.
