The Matt McNeil Show – March 15, 2021
Hour 1 segment 1: Matt talks about his allergies that flared up. Will the COVID era lead to a change so when people are sick they actually get time off? Updates Derek Chauvin trial including an attempt by the defense to delay the trial after the city of Minneapolis and George Floyd’s family reached a $27 million civil settlement.
Hour 1 segment 2: A tragic traffic accident in Woodbury leads to the deaths of five teenagers.
Hour 1 segment 3: MN Senate Republicans are throwing another tantrum over trying to remove Governor Tim Walz’s emergency powers. This despite MN Republicans proving they have no idea how to behave responsibly during the pandemic (i.e. their super spreader post-election celebration event). And Mary Kiffemeyer outdoes even herself by sharing blatantly false (and incredibly stupid) information about COVID.
Hour 1 segment 4: More on Mary Kiffemeyer’s blunder from earlier today. And the MN COVID-19 update.
Hour 2 segments 1/2: Jack Rice joins Matt to talk about the Derek Chauvin trial, why Minneapolis’s settlement with George Floyd’s family was not a smart decision by the city, how the defense might be doing better than the prosecution on jury selection and more.
Hour 2 segment 3: Matt is joined by Jonathon Rehlander and Kami Miller of MN DFL Senate District 41 as they talk about a virtual event SD 41 is holding on domestic terrorism.
