The Illegal Trans Woman – Ep. 86: Remembering May Pollard and Fighting USA Rugby Trans Bans
To start this week’s show I reflect on the heartbreaking suicide of May Pollard, a young trans girl in Idaho, examining the devastating impact of the state’s anti-transgender laws and the cruel denial of gender-affirming care. We also delve into Lambda Legal’s crucial lawsuit challenging the discriminatory bathroom bans that targeted her in school. Later, I am joined by Kyle Goon from The Baltimore Banner to discuss his uplifting reporting on the Baltimore Flamingos women’s rugby team and their fierce defense of trans teammates against USA Rugby’s exclusionary edicts. Finally, I wrap up the episode by sharing updates on my campaign for the Eastern Carver County school board and a recent Pride event in Monticello, Minnesota.
