Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Producer to run broadcast operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth on-air programming and high-quality audio and video for AM950 and its podcasts. As a vital part of our production department, you will manage both traditional live broadcast duties and digital content creation across our radio, podcast, and online platforms.

Schedule & Working Conditions

  • This role is based onsite in Eden Prairie, MN.
  • Shifts include 1–2 weekdays per week (live radio shows/podcast recordings) and 1–2 Saturdays per month (live radio programming).
  • There are opportunities for future remote work and room to grow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Broadcast Operations:

  • Monitor audio levels on our console and operate faders to maintain broadcast quality.
  • Follow programming clocks to ensure all content, advertisements and legal ID’s air as scheduled.
  • Record occasional voiceovers for station commercials and weather forecasts.

Technical Operations:

  • Check studio equipment for proper functioning before and during shifts.
  • Report technical problems and equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues during live broadcasts.
  • Take the initiative to guide hosts on proper microphone placement and adjust studio cameras for optimal video framing.

Content Production:

  • Help manage the end-to-end production of our podcasts, including recording, editing and scheduling the show for the radio, podcast feeds and full video for social media.
  • Upload and organize show assets in Google Drive.
  • Edit digital content (video and audio clips) for web and social media distribution.
  • Tailor short AI-generated clips for each episode and post to various social media accounts.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in radio broadcasting, podcast production or a similar field.
  • Hands-on experience operating audio console boards and standard audio editing software (Adobe Audition, Reaper, Pro Tools).
  • Foundational knowledge of audio/video equipment and live studio environments.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, multitask, and troubleshoot basic technical issues during live broadcasts.
  • Strong PC literacy, including proficiency with Windows 11 operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with radio automation systems (NexKast, BSI Simian, Wide Orbit)
  • Familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut).
  • Experience using AI Large Language Models (LLMs) to streamline content creation.
  • Familiarity with remote recording platforms like StreamYard and Riverside, as well as producing remote hosts or guests.
  • Knowledge of digital content formats, YouTube analytics, and social media audience engagement strategies.
  • Prior experience working in a live talk radio format.
  • Knowledge of current events for possible on-air interaction with hosts.
