The Big Interview is with Jillian Chmiel, a champion of domestic violence survivors and presently a therapist with the Sojourner Project in the west metro. (Jillian is also a mentee and “Third Daughter” to me!) In my C-Block, I share about losing a shagbark hickory tree at my old house in Cedar Rapids, a victim of the derecho storm last week; the tree figures symbolically in my memoir, Getting to Ellen.
