Our featured idealist is Mary McLeod Bethune, who was born in a South Carolina log cabin in 1875 to parents who had been enslaved. She understood the power of education and would go on to found what eventually became Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach FL. But she was much more—Eleanor Roosevelt declared that Mary was her closest friend of their age group. I also share a story of human goodness, about a Lafayette IN pizza driver who suffered burns as he saved five young humans from a house fire. Our collective empathetic hearts contributed nearly $550K to a GoFundMe campaign for the driver! Lastly, I talk about Florida’s “anti-woke” law that makes my trainings illegal in FL. Unbelievable!
