Experience Shakespeare in Winona: Two Epic Tales at The ARC from June 24 to July 26
From June 24 through July 26, the Great River Shakespeare Festival (GRSF) is bringing midsummer magic to its glorious new home at The ARC (arcwinona.org). The festival will fill this 1909 jewel of a theater with a bold, ragtime-infused production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Directed by Doug Scholz-Carlson, this irresistibly fun comedy features returning festival favorites as besotted lovers and a ragtag band of working stiffs tumble headlong into a gloriously chaotic fairy realm.
Also taking the stage is Shakespeare’s epic adventure Pericles: Prince of Tyre, performed by the GRSF professional company for the very first time. Directed by Shaun Patrick Tubbs, this sweeping tale of shipwrecks, pirates, and wandering exile stands as a powerful testament to human resilience and the stubborn pull of love. Audiences won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to experience two incredible voyages of laughter, discovery, and community coming alive in a breathtaking historic space.
