Wall Of Power Radio Hour – December 5, 2015

This show is our Pete Seeger Tribute. It aired on May 3, 2014 which would have been Pete’s 95th birthday. Our guests include legendary Twin Cities folksinger Charlie Maguire who chats about Seeger’s influence on him, as well as performing with him. Charlie and Paul then play If I Had A Hammer live in the studio. Filmmaker Bill Eigen joined us for a conversation about the films “Wasn’t That A Time” about The Weavers and the PBS “Power of Song” about Pete. Nora Guthrie then joins us to talk about Woody Guthrie’s influence and times with a young Pete Seeger. Paul Metsa then shares a private tape of Paul, Pete, and John Wesley Harding jamming backstage at the Tribute to Woody Guthrie at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
